# How can I edit an existing industry?

In the left menu bar, select '**Industries**' under the heading '**Firm'.**

Select the industry you would like to edit from the list of industries.

Click the '**Edit**' button at the top right of the page.

Here, you can edit any fields relating to the industry, such as

- Name (*mandatory*)
- Parent practice

After entering the information into the fields, update the industry's information by clicking '**Update industry**' at the bottom or top right of the page.

You can edit the description by clicking on the three dots under the description title and then clicking **'Edit'.**
